For the fifth consecutive year, the Huawei ICT Competition, a flagship Information and Communication Technologies (ICT)event, has showcased Cameroon's remarkable technological potential. This prestigious event offers students a unique platform to deepen their technical knowledge, hone their practical skills and explore the latest technological innovations.

A three-phase journey of excellence Following a rigorous national selection process, Cameroonian talents excelled during the Sub-Saharan Africa regional phase. Their outstanding performance was led by the Network team, composed of Sibafo Wisdom, Djoumessi Nguefack Ivan and Soyang Thierry Ngong, under the supervision of Dr Djiogue, née TiogningLauraine Kueti (National Advanced School of Engineering, Yaounde). This elite team clinched the regional first prize, earning their spot in the global finals.

 

Historic Achievement on Chinese Soil

In Shenzhen, the global hub of innovation, the Cameroon Network team once again stood out by winning the second world prize, competing against over 100 participating nations. This triumph crowns Cameroon’s efforts, following its third-place finish in 2023, and confirms the country’s excellence in ICT training. We extend heartfelt gratitude to the authorities of the University of Yaounde I for their unwavering support and commitment to fostering young talent.
