Health and Wellbeing
The UYI University Community Life Service (VéCU) covers various areas, including financial, psychological and medical support. The Social Services Unit offers financial assistance and support to promote conducive study conditions for students.
The Medical and Psychological Unit (CMP) offers :
- psychological or medical consultations;
- study/career guidance consultations;
- specific support for students with special needs/disabilities.
VéCU also contributes to combating harassment with the PHARE programme and
supports initiatives to reduce risks in party environments, in conjunction with other
services.
Psychological support and wellbeing
The main role of social workers in the Social Services Unit is to welcome students,
assist and support them or intervene to promote conditions conducive to study and
success, as well as contribute to students' well-being. They offer support, information,
financial assistance and even IT equipment on loan. They also offer a sympathetic ear
in complete confidentiality.
Financial and social assistance
La Cellule Médico-Psychologique (CMP) propose des consultations psychologiques à tout étudiant qui éprouve des difficultés (émotionnelle, personnelles, relationnelles, familiales ou académiques,…) et qui souhaite être soutenu dans un processus de changement, vers plus de bien-être. Elle propose aussi des activités collectives qui promeuvent la santé au cours des études. Tous les services sont gratuits.
Medical consultations
General practitioners consult students without an appointment on campus, at 7 Rue
Bruno, on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. Consultation is free
for students enrolled at UYI. You may also take an appointment.
Guidance and reorientation (career plans and study choices)
Rhetoricians and university students can receive free support from one of our
psychologists in developing their career plans and choosing their field of study
(generally between 1 and 3 sessions). Clinical interviews and the use of various tools
will help young people to better identify their motivations, interests, values and skills
in order to highlight the careers and training courses that may interest them. Students
are thus encouraged to explore the training opportunities and world of work (open
courses, meetings with professionals, internships, etc.) to help choose their field of
studies. Where necessary, the psychologist will then analyse the information gathered
in the field with the student.

Students with special needs - students with disabilities
The Medical and Psychological Unit (MPU) offers a service for students and
prospective students who experience long-term difficulties that may prevent them from
participating in class on an equal footing with other students.
PHARE - Protection against harassment
UYI has implemented the PHARE programme, which is part of a comprehensive plan
to combat psychological, physical and sexual harassment and to combat assaults
against undergraduate and doctoral students at the university.
The Harm Reduction Group (HRG)
The duty of the UYI Harm Reduction Group is to support student initiatives that
promote health on campus and help reduce risks in party settings.
