The University of Yaounde I held its Council meeting on Monday, 2 June 2025, in the conference room of the Rectorate, chaired by Professor Rémy Magloire Etoua, Rector of the institution. The meeting was attended by representatives of MINESUP, MINRESI and high-ranking academic figures.It was an opportunity to lay important groundwork for the future of the university.
On the academic front, participants reviewed the current academic year, approved the draft anti-plagiarism charter and guide, adopted new professional training programmes and approved the opening of Master's degree programmes in some institutions. Internal rules and regulations were also approved, while several decisions were made concerning the careers of lecturers, particularly with regard to promotion and collaboration contracts.
Beyond academic matters, the Council emphasized strategies to improve the university's revenues through better organization of revenue-generating activities.
Professor Rémy Magloire Etoua expressed “gratitude to all members of the Council for the quality of the discussions” during the meeting.
