The ceremony to install the newly appointed officials took place at the auditorium of the Rectorate of the University of Yaounde I on Wednesday, 20 August 2025. It was presided over by the Rector, Prof. Remy Magloire Etoua, in the presence of Mr Benoît Ndong Soumhet, Minister in charge of special duties at the Presidency of the Republic, the Yaounde City Mayor, Luc Messi Atangana, former Cabinet ministers and several dignitaries.
The officials were appointed by decree of the Head of State, His Excellency Paul Biya, on 11 August. They appointees were:
- Prof. Salé, née Matio Paki Rosine Magloire, appointed Secretary-General;
- Prof. Foe Ndi, née Ngah Essomba Hélène Chantal, Director of Academic Affairs and Cooperation (DAAC);
- Prof. Kenmogne Emile, Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Letters and Social Sciences (FALSS);
- Prof. Meva’a Jean Raymond Lucien, Director of IUT-Bois, Mbalmayo.
After presenting the backgrounds and profiles of the appointees, the Rector of UYI extended the following word of appreciation to the outgoing officials: "I would like to express my gratitude and that of the university community, for your commitment and dedication throughout your time at the helm of your various entities.”
Speaking to the newly appointed officials, Rector Remy Magloire Etoua stated:
“I urge you to align your actions with the threefold approach of Training, Innovating and Transforming, as prescribed by the President of the Republic, His Excellency Paul Biya. Training to impart knowledge rigorously, innovating to preempt tomorrow's challenges, and transformation to adapt teaching to current changes and thus achieve the set objectives.”
