The University of Yaounde I (UYI) Board of Governors met in ordinary session
on Monday, 15 December 2025, to consider the draft budget for the 2026
financial year. The meeting took place in the Ceremony Room of the
Rectorate, chaired by Professor Maurice Thuente, Chairperson of the Board of
Governors. The Rector, Professor Rémy Magloire Etoua, reported on the
proceedings.
Key issues relating to the institution’s academic and administrative governance
were also discussed at length. Board members reviewed and approved the
University’s draft annual performance plan, together with the 2026 draft
budget.
A number of key decisions were also taken, including:
- the recommendation for a gradual transition to digitization of certificates and the institution of a penalty for late collection;
- the closure of the Polytech-VALOR centre and the CAD CENTER;
- endorsement of the decision to establish a campus of the National Advanced Polytechnic School Yaounde (NAPSY) in Ilanga, Eseka.
The Board also approved the resolutions of the Management Board of the
National Advanced Polytechnic School Yaounde (NAPSY) dated 28 November
2025, and endorsed those of the University Council dated 3 December 2025.
The meeting was held in a spirit of collegiality and commitment, reflecting a
shared will to set a long-term guidance of the University’s activities.
The Board’s resolutions will be published once the ongoing administrative
procedures have been completed.
