The officials recently appointed by order of the Minister of State, Minister of Higher Education (MINESUP), were installed during a ceremony that took place in Amphitheatre 300 of the University of Yaounde I on Monday, 22 September 2025. The ceremony was presided over by Prof. Jean Njoya, Vice-Rector in charge of Education, Professionalization and Development of Information and Communication Technologies (VREPTIC), representing the Rector, Prof. Remy Magloire Etoua. The event was also attended by the Secretary-General of MINRESI, the Secretary-General of MINEDUB, and many senior university officials.

 

It should be recalled that the officials were appointed on 15 September 2025. The solemnity of 22 September marked their official entry into their new positions as Vice-Deans, Heads of Department, Deputy Directors, Heads of Division, Assistant Chief Conservator, Service Heads, Assistant Service Heads and Bursars.

 

While installing them, Prof. Jean Njoya expressed gratitude to those who, having been transferred to other duties or placed on retirement, had contributed to the reputation of the University of Yaounde I. He recommended rigour, commitment and integrity to the newly promoted officials. “Together, we have a responsibility to build a future where the University will be a true pot-pourri of knowledge and creativity," he stated. 

 

The Vice-Chancellor also urged the newly installed officials to promote inclusive, transparent and participatory governance based on dialogue, consultation and mutual respect. He went on: "The leadership you embody must be combined with team spirit and emotional intelligence to ensure the smooth running of the institution and the achievement of its objectives".
