The National Advance Polytechnic School of Yaounde hosted the 13 th
International Congress on Prevention and Screening of Cervical Cancer from
19 to 20 March 2026
The congress brought together healthcare professionals, researchers and
policymakers involved in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of cervical
cancer
A delegation from the OptiTri project (Adapting cervical cancer screening
strategies in Cameroon) attended the event to present the findings of its work
The initiative seeks to appraise strategies for implementing cervical cancer
screening tailored to two different contexts in Cameroon. The project is being
rolled out across four health districts in the West Region: Mifi, Foumban,
Foumbot and Bandjoun
The project is funded by the Initiative and implemented by the Research,
Health and Development Institute (RSD Institute, CAMEROON) in
collaboration with the Institute of Research for Development (IRD, FRANCE)
