It seeks to promote student mobility worldwide and\nenables the recognition and transfer of credits between universities. It\nstandardizes assessment systems and the presentation of academic records.<\/div><br \/><div>The academic year is divided into two semesters and runs from October to\nJuly. Each semester (excluding research semesters), students undertake a 30-\ncredit programme, equivalent to 300 hours of in-person lectures. In-person\nlectures are supplemented by independent student research in each module,\nthe volume and the method of assessment of which vary depending on the\ndegree programme and the specific modules.<\/div><div>\u00a0<\/div><div>The programme consists of teaching modules (TMs) which may be core\nmodules for the chosen course, cross-disciplinary modules or introductory\nmodules. In a degree programme, a number of teaching modules are\nmandatory for all students. They then round off their studies with optional or\nelective modules. Some degree programmes offer the possibility to have\npersonal projects assessed as part of the degree requirements.<\/div><br \/><div>Bachelor\u2019s-Master\u2019s-PhD system<\/div><ul><li>Bachelor\u2019s degree programme<\/li><li>Master\u2019s degree programme<\/li><li>PhD programme<\/li><li>Engineering degree programme<\/li><li>The Dipl\u00f4me Universitaire des Technologies<\/li><\/ul><div>\u00a0<\/div><div>The UYI is a flagship institution operating under the Bachelor\u2019s, Master\u2019s and\nDoctorate system.\u00a0It offers a wide range of courses in science, letters, social\nsciences, medicine and engineering through several faculties (FALSS, FS,\nFMBS, FSE) and institutions of higher learning (NAPSY, ENS, IUT-Bois).
